Yamaha DVD-S1700

$450.00 Released April, 2005

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Attractive design, looks like a high-end piece of stereo equipment, fits in with other AV equipment on a shelf. Audio output quality is second to none, DAC is very high-end for a clear and detailed sound. Built solid and durable for years of regular use.

The Cons:Some compatibility issues with DVD-R and DivX. Some skipping is noticeable, doesn't oversample very well.

Yamaha describes the DVD-S1700 as a high performance DVD player. With a number of strong features, most attention is directed toward the 1080p video output through the HDMI connection. Image quality is enhanced by Faroudja’s patented Directional Correlational De Interlacing (DCDi), described to remove jagged oblique lines that appear on standard interlaced video viewed through progressive scan.
