Introduced at CES 2009, the DV-420V is a slim upconverting DVD player from Pioneer. Featuring the ability to upconvert DVDs to full 1080p, the DV-420V is touted to be the first player to include MP3 encoding capabilities - allowing users to rip their audio CDs and have MP3 copies stored on a USB HDD or flash drive that is connected to the unit via its front USB port.

This USB port also allows users to playback JPEG images well as play WMA and AAC audio or WMV and DivX video files. Planned for release sometime in the summer, the DV-420V will have a MSRP of $90.
