Philips DVP5992

The Philips DVP5992 is a basic, high-definition DVD player with video upscaling to 1080i/p. It supports numerous different file formats, including the DivX compressed video format, JPEG, MPEG and .wma, and can read many types of discs including DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW and CDs.

It can also read files from a USB stick, and can convert audio tracks from a CD to .mp3 format on a USB stick. It also has Philips' EasyLink compatibility, which allows it to be controlled by a similarly enabled remote, along with other EasyLink devices. It has several inputs and outputs, and includes an HDMI output. Even without upscaling, its standard HD playback resolutions can be either 720p, 1080i or 1080p.
