The Philips DVP3340V is a basic DVD player/VCR combination device. Like a VCR, it can record to videocassette, but it can also dub from DVD to VHS or record events at programmed times. It is supposed to be convenient, as it reads a large number of formats, such as DVD-R/RW, MPEG, JPEG, VCD and CDs as well as mp3 files, and targets people who have both VHS and DVD libraries.
