The Onkyo DV-HD805 is a HD DVD player due out in Fall 2007, and marks Onkyo's entry into the High Definition Optical Media forray. It features an HDMI 1.3a output capable of delivering a full HD 1080p picture.

It includes a Reon HQV video processor capable of effectively upscaling all source video, including DVD, to 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. It features 24 fps playback, and a LAN connection for web-enabled HD DVDs.

The HD-DV805 has an MSRP of $899 and will become available in Fall 2007. The release of the HD-DV805 coincides with Toshiba's new 3rd generation HD DVD players like the Toshiba HD-A30 ($400) and HD-A35 ($500) offering similar specification for less price.
