Product Shot 1 The Pros:Excellent construction--slim, straightforward aesthetics, unit feels solid. On-screen display is top-notch--makes adjusting settings and switching formats a breeze. Well laid out remote control--fully featured but easy to use.

The Cons:Front LED display is very small and limited--can only display 7 characters at a time. Poor disc tray--very shallow, easy to misalign discs. Standard audio processor can't take full advantage of SACD-quality audio.

The Marantz DV6001 is a progressive-scan DVD player with a wide range of format compatibilities. It can upconvert DVDs to 720p, 1080i and 1080p resolution, which it accomplishes through HDMI, and is capable of playing DVD-V, DVD-A, SACD (stereo and multi-channel), DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, SVCD, VCD (2.0), CD, CD-R/CD-RW, MP3, WMA, JPEG HD and DivX disks.

The player has built-in Dolby Digital and DTS audio decoders, and six 192 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converters, with a 12-bit 216 Mhz digital-to-analog video converter. The player has component, composite and S-video outputs, and RCA-analog, 5.1-channel-analog, digital optical and digital coaxial audio outputs, plus HDMI.
