The Pros:Excellent DVD video upconverting using HDMI and Faroudja DCDi processing. Plays almost every disc available except for blu-rays. Fast load times for DVDs and CDs.

The Cons:No distance compensation or DSD bitstream output for SACD. Even with the 2MB buffer, still has a slight pause on DVD-Video disc layer change.

The DVD-1940CI from Denon is a progressive-scan DVD player and has the ability to upconvert DVDs to 1080p resolution using HDMI connection. It has a Faroudja Fi2301 video engine and DCDi circuitry for image processing, with dual discreet 12-bit video digital-to-analog converters.
