Coby DVD298
$60.00
Released February, 2008
The Pros:External file playback (USB, SD card, etc.) is smooth and easy to configure. Region Change/Free Region configurations enable playback of virtually all DVD types. Support .srt subtitle files alongside Mp4 content - highly beneficial for foreign film enthusiasts.
The Cons:Universal remote synchronization is hit and miss - many of the unit's functions cannot be "learned" by all-in-one controllers. Lack of a "Stop Resume" function disables specific pausing access. USB bus powering does not support 2.5-inch hard drives - limits compatible devices to flash and wall-powered units.
The Coby DVD298 is a super-slim progressive scan DVD player that combines traditional features with the most cutting-edge digital video technology. A step up from the DVD288, the Coby DVD298 adds along a bevy of features, including support for DivX & MPEG-4 (XviD) videos, USB flash drives, and SD/MMC cards.
